August 2006

All is well. Meredith is growing up so fast. She has outgrown her first outfit. More will soon follow, I'm sure. Meredith is gearing up for her trip to Pop and Susie's next week. She will be staying with them for the day while her mom and dad go to Charlotte for a fantasy football draft! Pretty soon, Meredith will be drafting her own team, so be prepared.

Meredith is supporting her favorite baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles.

Originally, I wanted to just get a shot of Meredith in her new PJ's. Then she started to topple over. I know I already posted a similar picture several weeks ago, but I thought this was so funny the first time, I decided to do it again. Seriously, I don't have a fast camera. It took her about 25 seconds to fall over.

Meredith outgrew her first outfit. The legs are supposed to reach to her feet and her belly is about to pop the snaps. She doesn't seem to mind though.

Meredith hangs out with her big sister, Knox.

Yard of the Month!!!

Okay, we didn't really get this title officially, but I put a lot of work into the front and backyards! In the back, we've put 40 bales of pine straw down to make a "natural" area, with daylilies, (thanks to Grammy), hostas and hopefully some ferns in the future. In the front, I put in some more hostas along the front walkway, and liriope and mondo grass along the driveway. In the corner, we have a small juniper and more daylilies. Lots more work to do over the years, but off to a good start!

August 2006

Meredith is growing up fast. This morning she laughed for the first time. She is smiling a lot and is very social. Today also marked a very important moment in a person's life. Today, Meredith went to Starbucks for the first time. She looked like she really wanted to try Nancy's Venti Iced Latte (with Skim Milk). After a 1.5 mile walk on the American Tobacco Trail, we stopped in at Starbucks for a refreshing drink. It was very nice today with cool breezes and good shade. Also, Meredith has been playing in her new contraption, The Johnny Jump Up (see below).
Hi everybody!
I'm ready for my trip to Starbucks.

Nancy made a sun shade for the jogging stroller since the one provided didn't cover her enough. Her feet were the only thing visible and were very cute sticking out.
Meredith keeps her eye on the prize.

I love Starbucks this much!

Maybe when I get bigger I can bounce more (instead of doing 360's).

Runnin' Baby!

Just want to thank Josh for my Mother's Day present - I won't be winning my age bracket any time soon, but maybe Meredith will!!

July-August 2006

Here are some recent photo ops.
Meredith enjoys a refreshing bath.
Pop and Susie came by for a visit and had a blast spending time with Meredith.
Pop helps to put together the exer-saucer that they bought for her.
Meredith had a great time playing in it (even though her feet don't touch the bottom yet).
Meredith has a new chair to relax in.
Susie and Meredith instantly bond. (Sorry- I had a blurry camera day)

The Gasper Grandparent Visit

Nancy's parents, John and Sue (aka Grammy and Grandpa) came down for a visit to meet their granddaughter. Meredith seemed to instantly bond with them and only threw up (twice) after she was given back to her father. The Gaspers are in town for a week and will have plenty of quality time with Meredith.
Sue holds Meredith for the first time.

She then falls into a comfortable rhythm and gives her a bottle of milk.

Grandpa gives Meredith some good advice.

The proud grandfather.

July 2006, continued.

Here are some more recent pics from July....

Aunt Sarah paid us a quick visit this week to see the new house, and of course her favorite neice.

While her head control is getting better, she still has difficulty with her overall balance!

Meredith had some fun play mat time today.

Then she got all packed up and went to work with her mommy!

July 2006

Hey everybody. I hope this post finds you all well. Because of the ongoing move, we haven't had much time to post, but here are a few pictures of her taken today. She is growing up so fast.

Here is Meredith in her Swaddle-Me. She is getting very good at escaping like Houdini.
I am way too cool for these shades.
A quick grin on the couch.

Weeks 3 and 4

With the move to Durham coming up next week, it has been difficult getting these online. So for you baby junkies, here they are, at long last- new pics of Meredith.

Be warned, these pictures are so adorable, your head just may explode.

Conner, Jeff, and Mary send love from Auburn, NY

We had some peaceful time today in the Bouncer.

Meredith is also starting to enjoy the cool toys she was given.

Word out to my mamma, yo!

Week 2

Here are some new pics from the Smith household. She is definitely becoming more alert and focusing on objects. She's also eating a lot more having increased her intake to 3-4 ounces every 3 hours. This week, her Aunt Sarah paid a visit for a first meeting (along with Pop and Susie). Even though raising a daughter is difficult and time consuming, Nancy managed to put together an awesome cold cut spread with homemade chicken salad with strawberry shortcake for desert...yum.

Meredith chills out in her new swing.

Sarah gets to spend some time getting to know her new niece.

Today, Meredith had a period of super alertness and calm. I took advantage of the situation and snapped about 30 pictures. She is already showing signs of genius.
